Pastors and elders often say the Lord will descend on a cloud, and ask us to be watchful and waiting. We have been waiting for the Lord descending upon clouds, but haven’t met Him by far. Nowadays, disasters get greater and greater and the prophecies of the Lord’s return have been pretty much fulfilled. Many people feel that the Lord shall already return, then why haven’t we yet welcome Him? Whether we can meet the Lord's return is related to whether we can obtain salvation. On this issue, I feel confused all along. On the matter of the Lord descending upon clouds, some people raise a different view: The Revelation says, “Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him”(Revelation 1:7). If people saw the Lord descending on a cloud, they would rejoice, then why this verse of scripture says “all kindreds of the earth shall wail”? And, the Lord Jesus said, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me”(Revelation 3:20), “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me”(John 10:27), “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches”(Revelation 3:22). I repeatedly ponder these verses of scripture. I am thinking: The Lord stands at the door and knocks, how does He knock? In what way does He knock at the door? If the Lord descends upon clouds and all people can see Him, why does He still say “knock at the door”? The Lord Jesus also mentioned “My sheep hear my voice” and “what the Spirit saith unto the churches”. If we think descending upon clouds is the only way of the Lord’s return, how will these prophecies be fulfilled? Then how will the Lord return? How can we understand the true meaning of “the Lord comes to knock at the door”? Let’s watch the Film, “Knocking at the Door” and look for the answer from it.
